Job summary

Duke University Health System's Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC seeks an experienced Nurse Manager - Ambulatory Clinic to provide clinical and operational leadership for nursing and patient care in one or more ambulatory clinics. This role emphasizes evidence-based practice, patient safety, and staff development.

You will collaborate with physician and APP leaders to optimize workflows, monitor budgets, and lead quality improvement initiatives while supporting onboarding and ongoing staff

Qualifications

• BSN required; MSN preferred.
• Minimum of three years of nursing experience with at least one year in leadership.
• Experience in ambulatory or outpatient clinic operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, oversight, and accountability for clinic practice in the ambulatory clinic(s).
• Supervise and evaluate clinic staff, including administrative, nurses, medical assistants, and other personnel; ensure competency and development.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and infection prevention standards.
• Lead budgeting and cost-containment efforts; monitor labor and supply costs.
• Drive quality improvement and population health initiatives using data to guide actions.
• Oversee onboarding, orientation, and training for new administrative staff.
• Act as liaison for patients, staff, and providers regarding nursing and operational concerns.
