Job summary

Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC, seeks an experienced Nurse Manager - Ambulatory Clinic to lead nursing and patient care across ambulatory clinics. You will ensure high standards of care, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence in alignment with DUHS policies.

This role oversees staffing, budgeting, quality improvement, and population health initiatives, collaborating with physician and APP leaders to optimize patient flow and outcomes.

Qualifications

• BSN required; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years nursing experience with at least one year in leadership.
• Current RN licensure in NC or compact state; BLS certification; additional may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, oversight, and accountability for all clinic practices in the assigned ambulatory clinic(s).
• Partner with operational leaders to align staffing, workflows, and clinical processes for optimal patient flow and quality outcomes.
• Supervise and evaluate clinic staff; ensure competency, performance, and professional development.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and infection prevention standards.
• Collaborate with physician and APP leaders to support clinical care delivery, patient safety initiatives, and service recovery.
• Participate in budgeting, labor and supply cost management; identify cost-containment opportunities.
• Lead quality improvement and population health initiatives; use data to track progress and drive actions.
• Support onboarding, orientation, and training for new administrative staff; ensure ongoing development.
