Job description

Position Summary

The incumbent is responsible for coordinating all functions and activities related to patient access including operation room scheduling, front end customer service, patient registration, insurance/coverage verification, appointment scheduling, charge entry, and various administrative duties such as credentialing coordination, form handling, phone management, filing, appointment scheduling, photocopying, faxing, mailing, letters, reports, etc.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient access functions across the endoscopy department.
  • Manage operation room scheduling and front‑end customer service.
  • Perform patient registration, insurance/coverage verification, appointment scheduling, and charge entry.
  • Handle administrative duties: physician credentialing coordination, form handling, phone management, filing, photocopying, faxing, mailings, letters, and reports.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree plus 1–2 years relevant work experience, or Associate’s degree plus at least 3 years relevant experience, or HS/GED with 5+ years relevant experience.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Excellent English communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills; strong customer service orientation; judgment and independent, creative problem solving; ability to maintain strict confidentiality of personal/health data; handle challenging situations and balance multiple priorities; strong computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and web/internet; experience or ability to learn standard hospital registration & billing systems.
  • Vaccination: Staff must be vaccinated against COVID‑19 and flu, including a booster dose of the COVID‑19 vaccine.
Compensation and Benefits

Compensation range: $24.86 - $30.30 per hour, based on qualifications.
