Job summary

CHP Berkshires is seeking a Registered Nurse to triage patients by phone or walk-in, assist in patient care under CHP Physicians, and supervise clinical support staff alongside the Practice Manager. The RN will ensure compliance with CHP policies and contribute to a caring, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities include patient education, scheduling, emergencies response, EMR-based triage, and assisting in procedures.

Qualifications

• RN/BSN from an accredited school of nursing is required.
• Current BLS certification.
• A minimum of three years' ambulatory setting experience preferred.
• Electronic medical records experience required; Athena experience a plus.
• Licensed as an RN by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

• Triages patients by telephone or walk-in to determine urgency and level of care needed.
• Provide patient education both written and verbal, including pregnancy, post-operative and post-partum care.
• Make patient appointments and coordinate scheduling of ancillary services and referrals.
• Respond to patient emergencies within the RN scope of license.
• Screen and triage patients via telephone/EMR messages; approve same-day visits and assist in referrals.
• Assist physicians in procedures requiring nursing support; administer immunizations and allergy shots; manage prescription requests; review labs and flag abnormal results for provider review.
• Run daily controls on equipment; assist in charting for quality assurance; ensure correct billing codes.
• Assist with rooming patients to maintain flow; answer staff questions; provide staff training as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.
