Job summary

University of California - San Francisco seeks a Supervisor to oversee mid-level and administrative staff across Pulmonary, Lung Health, Sleep Disorders and Sleep labs. The Supervisor analyzes workflows, guides staff, and serves as a liaison between providers and administrative teams, promoting efficient patient care.

Qualifications

• BA or BS or equivalent combination of experience / training.
• Experience in ambulatory clinic settings.
• Experience navigating insurance portals for authorizations.
• Ability to supervise support staff and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Schedules staff in coordination of daily operations and activities of clinic operations.
• Resolves escalated issues in patient reception, registration, insurance authorizations, scheduling, data entry and patient concerns.
• Implements established quality improvement processes and escalates incidents to leadership.
• Keeps staff informed of procedural changes and external regulations; participates in regulatory rounding.
• Coaches and empowers staff to respond to patient issues according to customer service guidelines and standards.
• Provides orientation and training to staff; monitors and coaches to ensure adherence to policies and standards.
• Manages IT system access, coordinates IT assistance, and ensures security compliance.
• Coordinates facilities and safety with Facilities/ EH&S; may oversee renovation projects.
• Maintains Clinic Calendars and scheduling; supports data organization for rounding.
• Assists in revenue management and budgeting processes; collaborates with billing on issues.
• Evaluates subordinate staff and participates in HR decisions such as hiring and performance.
