Job summary

WakeMed Health & Hospitals is seeking a Clinical Services Technician to collect pathology specimens at ambulatory care centers. You will register, process, and allocate orders, verify patient/specimen identities, and ensure specimen integrity for courier transport.

The role emphasizes efficient workflow, proper specimen labeling, POCT, quality control, and strong customer service while working both independently and with a team.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy preferred licensure.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect pathology specimens at ambulatory care centers.
• Register, process, and allocate laboratory orders from all sources.
• Verify patient/specimen identification and order appropriateness.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and proper PAR levels.
• Label and package specimens for courier delivery.
• Perform POCT and document quality control procedures.
