Job summary

Cleveland Clinic - Middleburg Heights Family Health Center ambulatory pharmacy is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support dispensing, medication retrieval, and inventory duties in a dynamic outpatient setting.

The role requires a CPhT, OBOP registration, and completion of a formal technician program; six months hospital experience is preferred. Shift involves day-evening rotation with weekend coverage at Independence Pharmacy as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through PTCB or NHA.
• Registration with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as Certified/Registered Pharmacy Technician or Technician Trainee.
• Registrants must update to a CPhT registration within 6 months.
• Preferred: completion of formal Pharmacy Technician Training Program.
• Preferred: six months hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide distributive pharmacy services and support for the pharmacist in ambulatory/outpatient setting.
• Prepare prescription orders for dispensing to patients.
• Maintain inventory for the outpatient pharmacy.
• Assist with extemporaneous compounding of prescriptions and bulk compounding of prescriptions and over the counter items.
• Operate the point-of-sale cash register system.
• Monitor and act on reorder points, restock prescription and non-prescription area and remove expiring products.
• Provide multi-pharmacy support in assigned areas as needed.
