Job description

Medical Assistants provide clinical support, assist with administrative tasks, and offer general support in an ambulatory setting under the supervision of the patient’s physician or LIP/RN designee, following policies, procedures, and competency standards to promote patient health and wellness. Duties include patient care, vital signs, assisting licensed healthcare professionals, conducting laboratory tests, quality control, and clinical intake.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure effective clinic operations through accurate communication with team members, providers, and patients.
  2. Collect data on physical, psychological, social, and cultural aspects of patients per professional standards and policies.
  3. Complete standardized rooming, clinical intake, and documentation.
  4. Provide clinical support during examinations and procedures, including specimen collection, testing, sterilization, wound care, and medication administration, within documented competencies.
  5. Organize and prioritize daily tasks to meet patient needs and support team efficiency.
  6. Implement age-appropriate interventions as directed by the Healthcare Provider.
  7. Reinforce patient and family education using approved materials.
  8. Maintain a safe environment and ensure safe care delivery.
  9. Manage supplies and equipment.
  10. Document services and charges accurately.
  11. Provide administrative support such as drafting letters, scheduling, medication refills, and chart preparation, within documented competencies.
  12. Work collaboratively with the team, recognizing time-sensitive issues.
  13. Engage in ongoing professional development.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Details:

Compensation Range: $18.37 - $28.47 hourly

Minimum Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience: None required.

Licensure: AHA BLS certification and current Medical Assistant Certification from a recognized national organization.

Physical Requirements:

Stand for prolonged periods, frequently bend/stoop/travel, lift/push/pull 20-50 lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases.
