Job description

Work Schedule :

Part-time, 80% FTE, day shift. Tuesday through Friday between 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. No weekends required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

Become part of our high-quality, patient and family-centered care team as a Medical Assistant in the Pediatric Department.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Join our team of pediatric and adolescent medicine physicians providing comprehensive care from birth through adolescence.
  • Deliver quality, compassionate, patient-family-centered care.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, obtain vital signs, document chief complaints, medications, allergies, and administer medications and treatments.
  • Promote healthy lifestyles, wellness, and education.
Professional Development:

UW Health offers continuing education opportunities for Medical Assistants, including AAMA-approved CEUs, Elsevier Skill Packages, and free weekend webinars (twice yearly).

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, plus one of the following:
  • Completion of an accredited medical assistant program, or
  • Licensure as an LPN, or
  • Completion of the UWH Medical Assistant Apprenticeship or Employee Partner Medical Assistant Program, or
  • Attainment of CCMA certification as a UWH employee, or
  • Acceptance into the UWH MA Apprenticeship Program (Accelerated), or
  • One year of recent Medical Assistant experience with CMA, RMA, or CCMA Certification.
Work Experience:
  • One year of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant or LPN preferred.
Licenses & Certifications:
  • Certification as MA, CMA, RMA, or CCMA within 1 year required.
  • Licensure as an LPN upon hire required.
  • If substituting education or licensure, current CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification upon hire required.
  • CPR/BLS certification upon hire required.
