Job summary

Nationwide-Children seeks a patient access representative to greet and register patients, answer phones, schedule appointments, and file medical charts when indicated. You will interact with families and coordinate with clinical staff.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • CPR certification may be required per manager's decision.
  • One year of health care experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated computer and administrative skills.

Responsibilities

  • Greets and registers patients in registration areas.
  • Answers telephone calls, schedules appointments, and pulls/files charts.
  • Obtains accurate demographic, insurance, and physician information.
  • Screen patient data for insurance eligibility and pre-certification.
  • Instructs customers on requirements and assists with self-pay referrals.
  • Maintains communication with Patient Access and clinical staff; supports new employee training.
