Job summary

Premier Health Partners is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pain Center at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH. The role encompasses nursing care for patients undergoing invasive pain procedures and those requiring phone consultations.

Requirements include an Associate's Degree in Nursing, an active Ohio RN license, and BCLS certification (ACLS preferred). Prior med-surgical nursing experience and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing.
• A current RN license to practice nursing in the State of Ohio.
• BCLS certification required. ACLS certification preferred.
• One year’s previous nursing experience in a med-surgical health care environment required.
• Registered Nurse must be: organized, efficient in performing work/responsibilities and have precise documentation and communication skills.
• Incumbent must be able to work in a highly stressful and fast paced environment and have outstanding customer relation skills.
• Able to stand /walk for extended periods of time, to be without uncorrectable hearing, visual impairments and able to lift and /or move patients.
• Be a team player who can work under direct supervision and in collaboration with others.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical nursing care for patients undergoing invasive pain procedures (epidural block, injections, etc.).
• Perform nursing assessment and pre-procedure preparation; administer medications.
• Assist pain specialist during procedures and provide post-procedure care.
• Discharge education including medications; follow up by phone.
• Input/review of new patient referrals; communicate medication policies and testing information.
• Handle insurance prior authorizations for procedures, medications, and emergent testing.
