Job summary

WMCH Weirton Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver ambulatory nursing care using the nursing process and independent clinical judgment. The role focuses on patient assessment, care planning, and collaboration with the health care team to ensure quality outcomes.

The position requires an active RN license in the appropriate state or eNLC multi-state license; temporary permits may apply at graduation, with licensure required within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• Must possess current RN license in the state where services will be provided or a multi-state RN license via eNLC.
• Must obtain permanent RN license within 90 days of graduation.
• OH requires active license; WV requires grad permit and licensure within 180 days.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care within ambulatory setting based on the nursing process.
• Performs preliminary patient assessment through observation and chart review for follow-up with health care team.
• Evaluates unstable or complex patient care situations and facilitates intervention.
• Implements clinical decisions using appropriate resources and peers.
• Uses independent nursing judgment for care provided by self and by others to whom care is delegated.
• Follows standards of care and practice to guide care delivery.
• Bases decisions on scientific principles, standards of care, or research findings.
• Determines priorities for direct/indirect patient care based on acuity and resources.
• Documents and communicates using established patient care support systems.
• Educates patients and families; identifies learning needs; documents teaching outcomes.
