Job summary

HCA Healthcare operates Methodist Surgery Center Texas Center for Athletes in San Antonio and is seeking an Operating Room Nurse for our ambulatory surgery center. You will contribute as circulating or scrub, ensuring safe nursing care until transfer to recovery.

You will oversee instrument setup, coordinate the room during cases, and ensure efficient transitions between procedures while maintaining accurate documentation and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum 1 year of operating room experience, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
• Active RN license as required by state.
• Valid BCLS certification upon employment (online certification not acceptable).
• ACLS required by facility.
• PALS preferred, may be required at some facilities.
• CNOR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee instrument and equipment setup for the OR and anticipate surgeon needs.
• Coordinate and oversee the room during a case as the circulator.
• Facilitate efficient transitions between procedures.
• Use proper body mechanics when moving patients.
• Manage patient care and medications, including anesthesia assistance.
• Review charts for completeness in line with documentation protocols.
