Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is seeking a Coding Supervisor to lead the ambulatory coding team across TTUHSC clinics. The role ensures accurate coding, regulatory compliance, and timely encounter completion to support revenue cycle integrity.

The supervisor will perform coding and auditing tasks, mentor staff, monitor productivity and quality, and collaborate with the Coding Manager, Compliance, and Revenue Cycle teams to implement policies and improve coding standards across

Qualifications

High school diploma and at least five years of progressively responsible medical coding or auditing experience.
Minimum one year of recent supervisory experience.
CCS or CPC certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire and kept active.

Responsibilities

Supervise daily operations of the centralized ambulatory coding team.
Monitor productivity and quality; provide coaching and feedback.
Perform coding and auditing to support workflows across specialties.
Collaborate with Coding Manager, Compliance, and Revenue Cycle to ensure guideline adherence.
Support coding policy development and staff education.
