Job summary

The Outpatient Coder I at Hackensack Meridian Health is responsible for accurately abstracting data following ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines across our network. You will perform data entry into the electronic medical record system and query physicians when appropriate to ensure coding accuracy.

Orthopedics experience and prior EMR experience are preferred. A minimum high school diploma and professional coding certification options are required, with competitive pay and comprehensive

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 1 year of coding for professional services.
• Strong understanding of physiology, medical terms and anatomy.
• Proficiency in typing with speed and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Must meet coding quality and productivity requirements per HMH Compliance.

Responsibilities

• Abstract data following ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines.
