Job summary

Community Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support ambulatory care sites. You will assist providers with visits and procedures, perform routine lab tests, handle referrals, and contribute to quality outcomes.

You will participate in network quality initiatives and maintain a clean, organized workflow. Responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining vitals and EKGs, collecting specimens, documenting in EPIC, and processing referrals while preserving positive patient

Qualifications

  • Diploma from a Medical Assistant program or a high school diploma with 1 year MA experience in a physician practice.
  • PMAC Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Licensure for Radiology required within 6 months of hire.
  • Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas with cleaning and stocking of supplies.
  • Room patients and manage provider’s caseload flow.
  • Obtain vitals, EKGs, and/or specimen collection.
  • Document care using the EPIC EMR system.
  • Perform Point of Care Testing per patient chief complaint and protocols.
  • Process referrals and medication refills.
  • Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the provider at ambulatory health care sites with patient visits and procedures.
  • Support routine laboratory tests, referrals, and quality outcomes for the practice population.
  • Actively participate in network quality initiatives regarding best practices.
  • Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use including cleaning and stocking.
  • Room patients and ensure efficient flow of the provider’s caseload.
  • Obtain vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection as needed.
  • Document care using the EPIC EMR system and perform Point of Care Testing per protocols.
  • Process referrals and medication refills; maintain strong patient-provider relationships.
