Job summary

Community Health Network’s Gastroenterology Medical Assistant (North) supports ambulatory care by assisting providers during visits and procedures, preparing exam rooms and handling referrals to ensure high-quality outcomes.

The role requires teamwork, excellent communication, and a proactive problem-solving attitude, with duties spanning patient rooming, vital signs, EKGs, specimen collection, and EPIC EMR documentation. Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate/certificate from a recognized medical assisting program or equivalent education.
• Medical assistant certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use including cleaning and stocking supplies.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient visits and procedures in ambulatory care.
• Actively participate in network quality initiatives and best practices.
• Room patients and manage efficient flow of provider’s caseload.
• Obtain vital signs, EKGs, and specimen collection as needed.
• Documentation of care in the EPIC EMR system.
