Job summary

Advocate Medical Group in Aurora, IL is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the care team with clinical and administrative tasks vital to patient care. This part-time role (20 hours/week) requires a MA diploma or 2 years of MA experience; phlebotomy skills are preferred.

You’ll schedule, relay test results, answer MyChart messages, and assist providers to deliver compassionate, high-quality care. Hours are Tue/Thu 8 am–6 pm, plus one Saturday per month 8 am–12 pm.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have a medical assistant diploma or 2 years of medical assistant experience or be a certified MA with 2 years of medical assistant experience, to qualify.
• Phlebotomy skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule: Tuesday and Thursday 8 am–6 pm.
• One Saturday per month 8 am–12 pm.
• Primarily desk-based tasks: communicating test results to patients, handling return calls, processing prescription refills, and responding to MyChart messages.
• Support providers, engage with patients, and help deliver a seamless, compassionate care experience.
• Welcome patients and help them transition into care.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist during procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Perform lab tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Document care in the EHR and coordinate with the care team.
