Job summary

The University of Virginia is seeking a Medical Assistant - Ambulatory to provide clinical support across multiple clinics in Culpeper and surrounding areas. The role includes assisting physicians, performing point-of-care testing, and handling administrative tasks to maintain efficient clinic operations.

Training is provided; candidates must hold a High School Diploma and obtain MA certification within 6 months. AHA BLS is required, with opportunities for remote work as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• AHA BLS certification required; obtain MA certification within 6 months of hire.
• Medical Assistant certification from a recognized body preferred within 6 months.
• No prior experience required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support to licensed professionals during examinations.
• Perform point-of-care testing and venipuncture per CLIA guidelines.
• Document charges and assist with scheduling, chart prep, and communication.
• Maintain supplies, sanitation, and infection control in clinical areas.
• Assist with data collection across physical, psychological, social, and cultural dimensions.
