Job summary

The University of Vermont Medical Center is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to join the Ambulatory Surgical Team. The role supports surgeons and nurses, assists with instrument handling, room turnover, and pre/postoperative care for ambulatory GI procedures, and may float between main campus and ASC as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of a surgical technology program with OR certification within 12 months of hire.
• Must complete SGNA online program within 6 months of hire.
• Meets pre-employment screening and physical requirements.
• AHA-BLS within 6 months of hire or current non-BLS accepted until renewal.
• Ability to anticipate, prioritize, and complete multiple tasks.
• Ability to work independently under pressure with good teamwork and communication.
• Basic computer skills and PC operation familiarity preferred.
• Proof of 15 hours of continuing education yearly.

Responsibilities

• Assist with scrub duties and handling instruments for endoscopic procedures.
• Support circulating duties under the supervision of an Ambulatory Surgery RN.
• Assist with room turnover and preparation for next cases.
• Participate in preoperative and postoperative care under RN supervision.
• Contribute to a clean, organized, and stocked procedure room and support areas.
• Provide reliable, customer-friendly service in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
