Job summary

Fairview Health Services seeks a Collection Lab RN to join the Clinics and Surgery Center on the University of Minnesota East Bank Campus. This 1.0 FTE role (80 hours every two weeks) includes 8‑hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with start times between 6:15 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.

The RN performs independent nursing and delegated medical functions, coordinating care with providers and the care team to deliver safe, evidence-based care in the outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in nursing
• MN RN license
• Basic Life Support certification

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and identify expected nursing outcomes.
• Involve patient, family, and healthcare team in data gathering.
• Use a systematic process to gather relevant data from patient and family.
• Analyze data to identify needs and potential risks.
• Identify outcomes that are age-appropriate and culturally appropriate.
• Validate outcomes and develop plan of care in collaboration with patient/family and team; document data.
• Implement nursing interventions based on plan of care.
• Evaluate care and patient response to interventions and outcomes.
• Deliver care as prescribed by provider to assigned patient population.
• Use effective communication to achieve desirable outcomes.
• Demonstrate ability to adjust care to the developmental level of patients.

Education

Associates Degree in Nursing

Bachelors Degree in Nursing

MN Registered Nurse (RN) License

Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
