Job summary

Uvalde Memorial Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinics Coding Manager in Health Information Management to lead the ambulatory coding team. The role emphasizes accuracy, compliance with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS, and collaboration with physicians and billing to improve revenue cycle performance.

You will oversee coding workloads, provide training, and drive quality assurance in a day-shift, in-person setting at the Uvalde facility, helping ensure high-quality patient care documentation.

Qualifications

• Two years of medical coding experience with leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of coding guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency with coding software and EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of medical coders.
• Ensure timely and accurate coding in ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS and related guidelines.
• Conduct coding audits and implement quality assurance measures.
• Provide training on regulatory updates and best practices.
• Collaborate with physicians and departments to resolve documentation questions.
• Partner with billing to address denials and optimize reimbursement.
