Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Clinical Practice Nurse Leader to guide ambulatory nursing teams, develop onboarding programs, and uphold organizational care standards. The position requires an Illinois RN license, a BSN with MSN (or an active Master’s program), and at least five years of RN experience.

Qualifications

• Current license as a Registered Nurse — State of Illinois
• MS in Nursing or BSN with Master’s in a related discipline; degree candidates eligible
• Minimum 5 years of clinical RN experience
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association) certification
• Strong verbal/written communication, organization, critical thinking, and multitasking skills
• Frequent travel to NM locations based on organizational need

Responsibilities

• Serves as a clinical resource to ambulatory practices.
• Collaborates with leadership and system partners to reinforce initiatives and standard work.
• Assists in planning, coordinating and implementing onboarding programs and educational initiatives.
• Conducts onboarding training, education and skill validation for new leaders and staff.
• Develops onboarding materials and training schedules with subject matter experts.
• Facilitates ongoing training to align with evolving care standards.
• Supports programs for professional development and continuing education for clinical staff.
• Identifies training needs with leadership and implements development initiatives.
• Uses evidence-based research to support clinical best practices and standard workflows.
