Job summary

The Arizona Department of Health Services seeks a CON Section Chief to oversee the ambulance services Certificate of Necessity licensing and rates program. You will supervise staff, ensure compliance with statutes and rules, and provide technical guidance to EMS providers.

You will work with bureau leadership to monitor program performance, coordinate with stakeholders, and drive quality improvement initiatives across the program. State travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public health, business, or related field and 4+ years in management of EMS or public health programs.
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating with stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal health regulations.

Responsibilities

• Participate in monitoring and evaluation of program activities; strategic planning and performance improvement initiatives; revise policies and rules; engage with key stakeholders at local, regional, state and national levels.
• Manage and direct subordinate staff; plan work, set priorities, hire, discipline, provide training, approve leave, and prepare evaluations.
• Review program requirements; ensure statutory and regulatory compliance; ensure all forms/documents are completed on time; recommend corrective actions.
• Provide training and technical assistance to EMS providers and healthcare facilities to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in quality assurance/performance improvement activities.
• Other duties as assigned as related to the position.
