Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current EMT certification/licensure in good standing.
• Current CPR BLS certification.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and provide BLS interventions (CPR, oxygen, bleeding control, splinting, vital signs).
• Assist paramedics by preparing equipment and performing delegated tasks during ALS calls.
• Monitor patient condition during transport and relay updates to the paramedic or receiving facility.
• Complete accurate, timely electronic documentation of BLS care and patient interactions.
• Operate the ambulance safely following driving standards and regulations.
• Maintain ambulance and equipment readiness through inspections, cleaning, restocking, and reporting issues.
• Perform stretcher moves and secure equipment to support safe transport.
• Participate in training and quality improvement activities to maintain EMT proficiency.
