Job summary

The Chicago Cubs are seeking an Amateur Scouting Assistant to support day-to-day operations, manage prospect data, and assist with pre-draft activities. You will collaborate with Scouting, R&D, Medical, and Player Development to ensure accurate information and timely processes.

Prior baseball experience is not required, but a passion for the game is essential. This full-time Chicago-based role offers extensive travel during the primary scouting season and opportunities to contribute to player

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative and analytical field.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities with data.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with productivity tools and adaptability to new databases.
• Passion for baseball and interest in amateur scouting.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day Amateur Scouting operations.
• Maintain prospect data and draft-related reports.
• Assist with pre-draft workouts and data collection.
• Coordinate cross-department data quality and workflows.
• Participate in data stewardship and project coordination.
• Work full-time in Chicago, travel during primary scouting season.
