Job summary

SMI Hotel Group is seeking a cook to join our kitchen team, delivering quality through presentation, preparation, and cooking abilities. The role requires at least 1 year of cooking experience in a restaurant or full-service hotel and a preference for culinary training.

You will work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed, maintain high sanitation standards, and collaborate with servers to ensure guest satisfaction. Health benefits and opportunities exist within our hospitality team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 1 year cooking experience in a restaurant or full-service hotel.
• Culinary school 2-4 year degree preferred.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare or direct preparation of food using established production procedures.
• Determine amount and type of food and supplies required using production systems.
• Comply with sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards.
• Follow standard recipes and special diet orders.
• Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours while preserving quality, temperature and appearance.
• Keep work area neat and clean; maintain equipment.
• Prep all food for next shift and following day.
• Work with servers to ensure guest satisfaction and resolve food service complaints.
• Must communicate effectively with diverse staff.
• Must prioritize kitchen tasks to meet quality and deadlines.
• Other duties as assigned.
