New Paradigm For Education, Inc. is seeking an Alumni Success Advisor in Detroit to support DEPSA alumni transitioning to college and beyond.

You will maintain a caseload, build strong relationships, and guide students through academic, financial, and personal barriers to persistence and credential completion. The role emphasizes proactive outreach, coordination with campus resources, and assistance with FAFSA and financial aid processes while supporting first-generation and/or low-income

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree required; education, counseling, social work, higher education or related field preferred
• Experience working with high school or college students required
• Experience in college advising, college access, student success, academic advising, counseling or related field preferred
• Knowledge of college admissions, financial aid and student support systems preferred
• Experience with first-generation and/or low-income students preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to manage a caseload and follow up with students
• Ability to build trusting relationships with students and families
• Willingness to work evenings and travel to college locations

Aufgaben

• Maintain a caseload of DEPSA alumni and provide individualized support throughout their college experience
• Build and maintain consistent relationships with alumni through regular communication and campus or virtual engagement
• Support alumni in developing the skills needed to navigate college independently
• Monitor alumni academic progress, enrollment status, and progress toward degree completion
• Identify alumni at risk of stopping out and develop individualized support plans
• Help alumni address academic, financial, social, and personal barriers
• Connect alumni with campus resources and faculty, staff and advisors
• Assist alumni in navigating college policies, deadlines, and requirements
• Encourage alumni to advocate for themselves and seek support independently
• Work with the College Advisor and broader team to ensure a seamless transition from high school advising to postsecondary support
