Job summary

KIPP Atlanta Schools is seeking a Persistence Advisor to support alumni pursuing associate degrees, certificates, and CTE pathways. This hybrid role is based at KIPP Atlanta Collegiate High School and focuses on retention, transfer planning, and equity‑driven student support.

You will coordinate with colleges, navigate financial aid, and guide students toward degree completion. The ideal candidate has experience with the technical college system, strong communication skills, and a proven ability

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.
Strong organizational and scheduling abilities.
Excellent project and time management skills.
Humility and self‑awareness.
Willingness to travel multiple times per month.
Experience with students and families from low‑income communities; experience as a college advisor or higher‑ed support staff preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of KIPP alumni pursuing Associate degree, CTE, certificate, and four‑year college pathways with focus on completion and transfer options.
Establish initiatives to promote college persistence via matriculation workshops, summer programs, life skills and networking opportunities.
Build positive relationships with students to support their postsecondary journey.
Communicate FAFSA deadlines and monitor financial aid processes and scholarships.
Navigate enrollment, financial aid, and credit transfer rules for two‑year and four‑year institutions.
Plan visits to campuses and events; coordinate with colleges and technical schools to minimize barriers.
