Job summary

KIPP Atlanta Schools seeks a Persistence Advisor to guide alumni pursuing postsecondary pathways, monitor progress, and navigate college systems. The role emphasizes coordination between high school and technical college partners and strong relationship-building with students and families.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree, experience supporting students from low-income communities, and a willingness to travel for campus engagements and partner meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage own schedule.
• Excellent project and time management capabilities.
• Humility and self-awareness.
• Willingness to travel multiple times per month.
• Experience working with students and families from low-income communities.
• Prior experience as a college advisor or admissions counselor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of KIPP alumni pursuing Associate degrees, CTE, certificates, and four-year college pathways.
• Provide targeted advising focused on program completion, career readiness, academic and social integration, resource and campus navigation, and transfer options.
• Build positive relationships with students to support their post-secondary journeys.
• Communicate FAFSA deadlines and conduct semester financial pulse checks for students.
• Maintain knowledge of financial policies, grant programs, and financial aid procedures.
• Navigate enrollment, financial aid, and credit transfer processes for the Technical College System and vocational programs.
• Plan and execute programming around preventing summer melt.
• Research and promote student involvement in internships, apprenticeships, and hands-on career training opportunities.
