Job summary

Penn State University Libraries is seeking an Associate Director of Stewardship and Alumni Relations to advance the Office of Development and Alumni Relations. You will lead stewardship initiatives, recruit alumni for programs and boards, and oversee communications, planning, staff supervision, and budget administration.

Your role involves partnering with campus and community stakeholders, developing long-range strategies, and ensuring thoughtful engagement of donors and alumni to support

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the stewardship program for the Libraries.
  • Identify and recruit alumni for programs and boards.
  • Engage in marketing and communications related to stewardship.
  • Participate in long-range planning for new initiatives and programs.
  • Provide guidance to volunteers and staff to execute programs.
  • Collaborate with partners to maximize stewardship success.
  • Engage university partners and the community in stewardship activities.
  • Communicate stewardship objectives to leadership, including endowment oversight.
  • Plan nomination and selection for alumni associations and scholarships.
  • Initiate and manage programs and events on and off campus.
  • Coordinate endowment management and liaise for inquiries.
  • Hire, supervise, train, and direct staff, including one full-time employee and one seasonal intern.
  • Plan and execute Development Board meetings; serve on committees.
  • Administer the Libraries development budget; articulate needs and values.
