Job summary

Deerfield Academy seeks an Assistant Director of the Deerfield Fund to help implement annual fundraising campaigns and donor communications. The role leads reunion fundraising for milestone classes and collaborates with Alumni Relations to deliver engaging programs.

Primary duties include creating written content, managing volunteers, and cultivating donors while traveling up to 15 days yearly. A strong track record in advancement and communications is essential.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in Advancement or similar related work experience required.
• Proficiency in crafting original written communications for varied audiences.
• Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage and motivate volunteers.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to diversity and inclusion and serving a diverse community.
• Willingness to travel up to 15 days per year.
• Ability to handle highly confidential information with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Create original written content for mailed and digital Deerfield Fund appeals.
• Strategize annual fundraising initiatives using tools to engage alumni.
• Direct all Reunion fundraising for 30th, 35th and 40th classes, including volunteers and gifts.
• Collaborate with Alumni Relations on reunion programming.
• Manage a portfolio of prospects and solicit in-person meetings.
• Track activity and keep contact/biographical data up to date.
• Participate in weekend/evening campus events as required.
