Job summary

Doane University is seeking an Assistant Director of the Annual Fund to support and grow the university’s annual giving program. The role blends annual fund fundraising with alumni engagement through social media content strategy and engaging event programming, collaborating to cultivate philanthropy among alumni, students, parents, and friends, and to increase engagement and donor participation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus at least one year of experience with annual fund or phonathon management in a higher education setting.
• Managing social media platforms for an organization, including content creation and analytics.
• Graphic design experience using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
• Working in advancement, annual giving, alumni relations, nonprofit development, marketing/communications, or a related field.
• Experience with email marketing platforms (Constant Contact, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or similar).
• Planning and executing events, campaigns, or volunteer-based programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft compelling, audience‑appropriate messaging.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with CRM/database systems (experience with Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, or similar advancement platforms preferred).
• Collaborative, team‑oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
