Job summary

San Diego State University is seeking an Alumni Engagement Specialist to connect alumni, students, and volunteers through programs, events, and communications. You will support the Aztec Proud philanthropy program, collaborate with campus partners, and help turn ideas into engaging SDSU experiences.

The role focuses on relationship-building, event planning, and data-driven engagement within a large university community, with telecommute eligibility and usual on-site duties as scheduled.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience.
• Experience planning, coordinating, and evaluating programs, events, or engagement initiatives.
• Ability to develop and coordinate communications using email, social media, digital platforms, and other tools.
• Experience providing work direction or mentorship to student employees or volunteers.
• Knowledge of alumni engagement, volunteer management, and higher education environments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate alumni programs and events from planning through execution and follow-up.
• Manage timelines, registration, event communications, vendors, budgets, logistics, and participant experiences.
• Maintain alumni and event information using CRM and engagement platforms, including Ellucian and Hivebrite.
• Track participation and program outcomes and use data to strengthen engagement.
• Manage the Aztec Proud student philanthropy program and related outreach.
