Job summary

Roku is seeking an Alpha/Beta Programme Technical Specialist to run large-scale pre-release validation across devices and software. You’ll manage a large pool of testers, craft clear instructions, and translate tester feedback for engineering teams while guiding progress and engagement daily.

You’ll collaborate with engineering and product management, employ AI tools to streamline workflows, and build strong relationships across the org to ensure timely, high-quality releases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in Programme Management with 2+ years QA/engineering/testing experience.
• Direct Alpha/Beta testing programme experience with external testers.
• Familiar with software testing methodologies and lifecycle.
• Experience delivering products in consumer electronics or streaming industries.
• Experience building AI tools and workflows used by teams.
• Ability to design quality-by-default and manage AI-driven processes.
• AI-first approach with tool selection for planning, status, and risk tracking.
• Comfort with data analysis using BI/QA tools to surface insights.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Familiarity with streaming devices and home connectivity tech.
• Ability to handle physical device setup and basic tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead concurrent Alpha/Beta programmes for devices and software features.
• Define guidelines, entry/exit criteria, and track progress while managing risks.
• Recruit testers across demographics and encourage feedback.
• Guide testers through testing phases and maintain engagement.
• Use AI to build tools to organize feedback and surface insights.
• Collaborate with Engineering/Product to test workflows and triage bugs.
• Conduct internal acceptance testing before release to testers.
• Coordinate procurement and distribution of devices to testers.
• Analyze tester data and generate reports to inform launches.
• Provide regular updates to stakeholders and manage risks.
• Work with external partners and drive related activities.
• Lead customer validation with external testers prior to launch.
• Build relationships to keep teams moving forward and report metrics.
