Job summary

Synechron seeks an Octane Engineer to enhance enterprise Quality Engineering and Test Management using ML Octane. You will administer Octane, manage residues, and integrate with Jira/Jenkins/GitHub/Azure DevOps to improve testing efficiency across enterprise applications.

The role requires 5+ years in QE or ALM admin, strong STLC/SDLC knowledge, and proven dashboard/reporting capabilities. A degree in CS/IS/Engineering is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or ALM administration.
• Strong hands-on experience with OpenText/Micro Focus ALM Octane.
• Experience managing requirements, test cases, defects, releases in Octane.
• Solid understanding of STLC, SDLC, Agile, and Scrum methodologies.
• Experience integrating Octane with Jenkins, Jira, GitHub, Azure DevOps, UFT, Selenium.
• Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and testing analytics.
• SQL knowledge for reporting and validation.
• Excellent communication with technical and business stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and maintain ALM Octane environments.
• Manage workspaces, users, permissions, releases, cycles, requirements, defects, and test assets.
• Support Agile teams by configuring backlogs, user stories, epics, features, and sprint management.
• Develop and maintain integrations between ALM Octane and Jira, Jenkins, GitHub, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Create dashboards, reports, KPIs, and quality metrics for visibility into testing and release progress.
• Collaborate with QA, Development, Product Owners, and Business teams to define testing strategies.
• Support automated testing frameworks and integrate test results into Octane.
• Troubleshoot Octane issues and provide production support and root-cause analysis.
• Implement best practices for test management, defect tracking, and release management.
• Participate in software release planning, quality reviews, and continuous improvement.
• Provide training and guidance to end users on ALM Octane functionality.
