Job summary

Optum is seeking a senior QA engineer lead to design robust AI-powered testing solutions and lead end-to-end test automation across web, API, mobile, and cloud applications. You will mentor QE engineers, drive automation strategy, CI/CD integrations, and ensure quality gates while partnering with Product, Architecture, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable, scalable healthcare platforms.

Experience with Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Rest Assured, and Postman is expected, as is experience with

Qualifications

6+ years in Quality Engineering, Test Automation, or SDET
2+ years leading enterprise automation programs and quality initiatives
2+ years hands-on expertise in automation framework design, API testing, and CI/CD integration

Responsibilities

Lead QE strategy and end-to-end test automation across web, API, mobile, cloud, and AI-powered apps
Design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks
Validate APIs, microservices, and service contracts using Rest Assured and Postman
Establish automation best practices, coding standards, and quality gates
Develop AI/GenAI validation for response quality, accuracy, and guardrails
Perform backend and database validation for data integrity across systems
Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Engineering, and DevOps to define quality strategy
Drive shift-left testing and automated regression in Agile teams
Mentor QE engineers, conduct code reviews, and provide technical leadership
Measure automation coverage, regression efficiency, and release quality
