Job description

To ensure the gift wrap fundraiser at your assigned location is handled professionally and efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure all gift wrap volunteer shifts are filled throughout the season.
  • Recruit, schedule and maintain communication with all volunteers working at your location. This includes gathering contact information, responding to emails and calls promptly and occasional coordination with Executive Director and other location’s coordinator.
  • Set up and tear down location, including decorating and creating a festive environment. (Décor and supplies provided)
  • Keep your location stocked with necessary supplies, this includes picking up supplies from Ally’s House or purchasing from a store with pre-paid gift card.
  • Have a contingency plan if volunteers cancel or no-show their shift. This could be done by securing emergency volunteers or covering the shift yourself.
  • Keep the Executive Director informed about any changes, problems or needs that arise.
  • Open location at the beginning of each shift and collect donations at the conclusion of each shift, securing the money in the locked area on site as well as locking the location for the night.
  • Meet with Executive Director on pre-arranged days to count and log donations.
  • Maintain a courteous and professional relationship with your location’s admin team/staff throughout the season. Handle any critiques or questions that arise from staff in an appropriate manner. Foster relationships with surrounding businesses within your location.
Physical Requirements

This job involves moderate lifting and moving of necessary supplies to and from our storage unit as well as organizing them within the location.

Must also have reliable transportation and regular computer and cell phone access to communicate with volunteers and administrators.

Dates/Schedule

The volunteer recruitment period, planning and organizing schedules will begin in October once the locations hours become available and the job will end once the location is cleared out and supplies returned to the storage unit. Dates/times depend on each location’s holiday hours.

Skills and Abilities

Must possess outstanding organizational skills both physically and in an administrative capacity.

Knowledge of email, texting and computers.

Be articulate and professional in written and spoken communication.

Able to handle any problems that may arise with volunteers or location’s staff with courteous professionalism.

There is required attendance at pre and post fundraiser meetings. Tentatively in October and January of each season.

This is a contract labor position and will require a W9 form to be filled out.

The salary is $1200, half to be paid at the first meeting and the second half upon completion of the event.
