Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Boulder, CO, seeks an Algorithms Software Engineer (Level 3 or 4) to design, develop, and validate advanced algorithms for missile tracking. You’ll work in a fast-paced IRAD environment, using modern C++ and Python, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure mission relevance.

The role requires a strong math background, data analysis, and state estimation expertise, with travel up to 10% and a current Secret clearance to start.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience for Level 3 or 8+ years for Level 4 in algorithm software engineering.
• Minimum 1 year of Python and/or C++ software development experience.
• Experience with Linux and common utilities (grep, awk, cat, head, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, document, and debug software and algorithms for missile tracking.
• Analyze data and implement state estimation algorithms.
• Develop tools and prototypes using Modern C++ and Python.
• Track defects and ensure quality of algorithms.
• Document technical work as required.
• Collaborate across disciplines and communicate clearly.
