Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks an Algorithms Developer / Software Engineer Lead to guide a 2–4 person team on cutting-edge missile tracking software. You will design, implement, test, and document complex algorithms and tools in C++ and Python, and contribute to technical strategy with architecture peers.

The role requires secure work with a current U.S. Secret clearance and travel up to 10% for program needs; leadership and mentorship responsibilities are central to success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline or related field with years of experience as specified (5+ with B.S., 3+ with M.S., 0 with PhD)
• Active in-scope U.S. Government issued Secret clearance at time of application; ability to obtain Top Secret
• Travel up to 10% to support business needs

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2–4 person Tracker team on missile tracking and interception software
• Design, develop, test, and document software and mathematical algorithms
• Develop tools and prototypes using C++ v20+, Python for analysis
• Mentor teammates and contribute to technical vision with architects and program management
