Job summary

Penn State University is seeking a Community Health Educator (Student Wellness Specialist – Intermediate Professional) to provide individualized health promotion services to students with alcohol or cannabis policy violations.

Under the supervision of an Assistant Director, you will deliver screenings, brief interventions, and referrals, educate on harm reduction, and lead workshops for campus groups while helping develop health promotion initiatives and programs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree plus 1+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of BASICS and motivational interviewing preferred.
• Experience with health promotion theory and evidence-based prevention/intervention strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual alcohol and cannabis education services.
• Deliver brief screening, assessment, intervention, and referral for students with conduct-related violations.
• Educate students on harm reduction strategies and apply motivational interviewing.
• Conduct education workshops for fraternities, sororities, student organizations, and classes.
• Assist with development and implementation of health promotion initiatives.
