Qualifications

  • Master’s degree required.
  • 1 year of relevant experience in recovery support, health promotion, mental health, or collegiate environment.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based AOD prevention strategies, motivational approaches, recovery support frameworks, harm reduction principles, and population-level behavior change models.
  • Demonstrated understanding of recovery, addiction services and student development.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills across presentations, workshops, trainings, and group facilitation.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Canvas, Zoom, and related platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Leads UMass Recovery operations, peer support meetings, events, and student leadership development.
  • Provides consultation, brief intervention, referral, and care coordination for students with substance use concerns.
  • Serves as primary contact for students seeking services and guidance.
  • Designs and delivers prevention, harm reduction, and recovery education initiatives campus-wide.
  • Collaborates with campus partners to ensure integrated care pathways and program evaluation.
  • Recruits, trains, and supervises student staff and ambassadors.
