Presbyterians Hospital in Albuquerque, NM is hiring a Patient Access Financial Advocate for full-time daytime shifts. The role performs financial screening for inpatients and outpatients, explains coverage and costs, and assists with financial assistance applications and charity care programs.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma and 3–5 years in healthcare billing or patient accounting, with EPIC proficiency and strong communication skills. Knowledge of CARES behaviors is a plus.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three to five years of healthcare experience in a physician office or hospital setting.
• Prior billing office and collection experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide financial screening to scheduled, admitted inpatient and discharged patients for patients in a hospital setting.
• Confirm patient insurance eligibility and provide benefits review; review coverage extent.
• Use cost estimate technology to create estimates and communicate estimated costs to patients.
• Post payments and assist in creating payment plans for services and/or balances.
• Coordinate and complete financial assistance applications for charity care program.
• Handle Medicaid eligibility determinations and related enrollment tasks.
• Understand revenue cycle and escalation pathways.
