Job summary

The State of Alaska’s Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Division of Administrative Services in Juneau is seeking an Accounting Technician 3 to manage travel-related transactions, train staff, and ensure compliance with travel, PCard, and reimbursement policies. This role also oversees the One Card program and provides backup payables support.

Two years of technical accounting or bookkeeping experience are required, with substitutions available for education or certification.

Qualifications

• Two years of technical level accounting or bookkeeping experience, with at least one year at full-proficiency level.
• Substitutions: Accounting Technician certification may substitute for one year of non-full-proficiency experience.
• Post-secondary education can substitute for up to two years of experience if accounting coursework meets requirements.
• An associate's degree can substitute for two years of experience if coursework meets levels in Accounting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for travel-related transactions, policies, and procedures.
• Provide guidance and training to staff and Travel Planners.
• Independently review, audit, certify, and monitor travel, PCard, and reimbursement transactions for accuracy and compliance.
• Identify discrepancies, monitor outstanding transactions, and coordinate annual Executive Travel Report.
• Manage the One Card program and provide backup support for payables functions.
