Job summary

Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, Central Region, is seeking an Accounting Technician 1 to process Time & Equipment timesheets in the IRIS system and support the Budget Section with financial activities across regions. The role emphasizes accuracy, clerical skills, and GAAP knowledge.

The position offers a professional development environment within a small team, with a telework option after probation and flexible office hours; Alaska residency may be required.

Qualifications

• Self-management with initiative and reliability
• Decision making with sound judgment and accountability
• Knowledge of GAAP, double entry, accrual, and the full accounting cycle
• Experience using computers and standard software for record keeping
• Clerical skills: data entry, filing, and forms handling

Responsibilities

• Process Central Region Time & Equipment timesheets in IRIS; prepare ICT documents.
• Support Budget Section staff, Budget Officer 1 and Budget Analyst 2 in financial reviews.
