Job summary

Holland America-Princess (Holland America Dawson City Inn) seeks a Remote Maintenance Worker to train and assist rural Alaska utility operators. The role combines office tasks with in-field fieldwork across remote village sites, focusing on plumbing, electrical troubleshooting, carpentry, and system maintenance.

Candidates must obtain entry-level water certifications and be willing to travel by plane or boat. A hybrid schedule may be available after six to twelve months of competency building.

Qualifications

• Requires Alaska Driver’s License and ability to drive a lite pickup within 6 months of hire.
• Willingness to travel by small plane, boat, 4-wheeler, snowmachine.
• Certifications: Water treatment, distribution, wastewater collection (training provided).
• Ability to assess situations, formulate plans, and follow through to completion.

Responsibilities

• Provide training and technical assistance to rural utility operators.
• Respond to emergencies threatening water and sewer facilities.
• Maintain and repair village water/sewer systems in remote Alaskan communities.
