Job summary

Golden Valley Electric Association in Fairbanks, Alaska, seeks an Energy Management Specialist to help members understand and optimize their energy use through reviews, efficiency recommendations, and guidance on rates, billing, net metering, and energy programs.

You will analyze residential and commercial consumption, support energy-efficiency initiatives, and contribute to programs covering electrification, demand response, renewable energy, and long-range planning, with competitive benefits

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental sciences, or related field preferred.
Equivalent education and experience in electric utilities or energy systems will be considered.
Strong communication and presentation skills; explain technical information clearly.
Organized, self-motivated, able to manage multiple projects.
Energy Manager in Training or Energy Efficiency Practitioner certification, or ability to obtain within six months.

Responsibilities

Perform energy-use reviews for residential and commercial members.
Provide efficiency recommendations and guidance on rates, billing, and energy programs.
Support energy programs such as beneficial electrification and demand response.
Collaborate with multiple departments and assist with long-range planning.
