Job summary

Tyonek Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Fixed Wing Second in Command (SIC) pilot for our in-house flight department. This role supports a mixed fleet of fixed-wing and rotor aircraft under 14 CFR Part 135 and Part 91 for executive transport, crew changes, surveillance, and offshore logistics.

The position is based in Alaska. The SIC reports to the PIC and may act as PIC in the event of PIC incapacitation; duties include ensuring safety, adherence to SOPs, and maintaining currency.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate.
• Must hold a valid FAA Instrument Rating.
• Must hold a valid FAA first- or second-class medical certificate.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Company conducts post-offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing.

Responsibilities

• Assumes duties delegated by the PIC during flight assignments.
• Supervises aircraft during fuel receipt.
• Operates aircraft in accordance with Company SOPs.
• Keeps passengers informed of flight status during delays.
• Acts as PIC if PIC is incapacitated and diverts to the nearest suitable airport when necessary.
• Maintains familiarity with manuals and compliance documents.
• Registers in Pilot Record Database and lists Grasshopper Aviation LLC as current employer.
• Tracks instrument currency and notifies Chief Pilot if non-current.
• Tracks night landing currency and notifies Chief Pilot if non-current.
• Flies aircraft under PIC directions.
• Performs take-offs and landings under PIC authority.
• Assists in loading/unloading of the aircraft.
• Assists in weight and balance.
• Participates in the safety management system.
• Must be able to travel internationally.
• Other duties assigned by management.

Education

High school diploma or GED

FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate

FAA Instrument Rating
