The role involves supporting the ongoing implementation, configuration, and optimisation of Akamai App & API Protector.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness and capability to learn new tools and technologies on the job.
• Automation/scripting skills such as Python.

Responsibilities

• Support the configuration, tuning, and day-to-day operation of Akamai App & API Protector.
• Assist in the review and adjustment of security policies for web applications and APIs.
• Monitor alerts and events, and support incident investigations under guidance.
• Work within internal teams to respond to WAF-related issues and change requests.
• Help identify improvements in rule tuning, coverage, and visibility.
• Contribute to documentation of rule sets, policy changes, and operational processes.
• Collaborate with Akamai and internal stakeholders to support secure rollout of protected apps.
• Engage in continuous learning and skill development around the Akamai platform.
• Prepare and deliver security reports and technical briefings covering operation, threat activity, policy compliance, risk exposure, and remediation recommendations.
