Job summary

Port of Portland is seeking an experienced airport operations professional to lead regulatory compliance under 14 CFR Part 139 and to drive the Safety Management System (SMS). You will serve as the primary compliance resource during FAA inspections, oversee the ACM, and coordinate airside safety programs including the UAS initiative.

The role emphasizes data-driven risk management, collaboration with multiple teams, and on-site presence with a hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of progressively responsible airport operations, Part 139 compliance, and/or safety management at a commercial service airport.
  • Experience coordinating with FAA inspections and regulatory teams.
  • Demonstrated data-driven risk assessment and safety improvement skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Port’s primary technical resource for airport certification compliance under 14 CFR Part 139.
  • Act as the Port’s primary compliance representative during FAA inspections and track ACSI findings.
  • Support revision and maintenance of the Airport Certification Manual (ACM).
  • Lead the Safety Assurance component of the SMS, analyzing data to surface risks and drive improvements.
  • Oversee airside safety programs and manage the UAS program in compliance with FAA rules.
